L'ull cec organitza aquest taller de tres dies, que serà impartit en anglès pel compositor italià Antonio della Marina. El taller està dirigit a músics i artistes que estiguin interessats en iniciar-se en el desenvolupament del seu propi programari per crear música o bé per materialitzar instal-lacions interactives o projectes multimèdia. max/MSP és un potent i intuitiu entorn de programació gràfica, molt popular entre la comunitat artística digital. El programa del taller està obert a possibles modificacions, depenent dels interessos i l'experiència prèvia dels assistents. A continuació, la informació detallada sobre el taller (en anglès):

Program
max/MSP is one of the most important tools used by both computer musicians and installation artists. Due to its graphical interface it is quickly and easy to learn. Max/MSP is both suitable for small applications and complex combinations of various electronic media. The workshop gives an introduction of the concept of Max/MSP and its possibilities.

During the workshop all basic features of max/MSP will be explained, all the examples will be given to applicants for further use. Della Marina will also show and explain some of his work made with max/MSP/Jitter.

1st day - starting out
- general introduction and overview of max work flow
- basic concepts of Max programming
- working with sound samples

2nd day - deeper into sound
- sound generators and sound synthesis
- how tuning works
- Interaction and live manipulation
- live collaborative session

3rd day - build your own instrument (3'5 hours)
- build your application
- build your vst plugin
- hints and tips

Bonus tracks - a glimpse forward (time permitting):
- network comunication objects
- how to work with sensors
- basic video processing using Jitter.

Target audicence
Musicians and artists interested in interactive installations, multimedia exhibitions, live media, case-specific projects. Computer users who wants to have a look at custom-built-software way of working.

- Own Computer with maxMSP installed (a 30 day trial demo is downloadable from Cycling74)
- Headphones

Antonio Della Marina (1969) is a sound and media artist from Italy. He has exposed his music in theatres, alternative spaces and international art festivals (Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Eastland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bosnia Herzegovina), has given workshops and lectures at Museo Pecci of Prato, Associazione GAMO in Florence, Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Sound installations and interactive enviroments has been made by Antonio Della Marina for Università Federico II di Napoli, Università degli Studi di Bologna, Triennale di Milano, Futurshow, Biennale di Architettura di Venezia.
